REVIEW : CROWNE, Operation Phoenix (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 27 January 2023)

The super-group of CROWNE returns back in action with its brand new opus entitled "Operation Phoenix". The new album is going to be released through Frontiers Music this January (27th).

Crowne consists of vocalist Alexander Strandell (Art Nation, Nitrate), keyboardist/producer Jona Tee (H.E.A.T.), bassist John Levén (Europe), drummer Christian Lundqvist (The Poodles), and new full-time member, the amazing guitarist Love Magnusson (Dynazty). Once again produced by band member Jona Tee (H.E.A.T., New Horizon), "Operation Phoenix" sees the collective delivering a stunning tour-de-force of melodic hard rock with hints of metal influence mixed in.

The music of CROWNE can be desribed as the perfect mix between bands such as The Poodles, Eclipse, Art Of Nation and Dynazty!!! Of course for those who already own and checked the band's brilliant debut you know exactly what I mean!!! 

The vocals of Alexander Strandell are smooth, to the point and excellent as always! The rhythm section is solid as hell and last but not least the guitars by Love Magnusson are out of this world! 

This new masterpiece kicks-off with three blasting, thunderous and great tracks; "Operation Phoenix", "Champions" and "In The Name Of The Fallen" are all some excellent samples of pure Scandi melodic metal/hard rock stuff that will thrill you!!!

"Super Trooper" is an ultra-catchy, up-beat and very commercial track that the sure thing is that will make you whistle its chorus for days! Super tune! "Ready To Run", "Juliette" and the much heavier "The Last Of Us" are again the definition of the ultimate Scandi melodic metal/hard rock sound. The DYNAZTY-esque "Roar" is just HUGE while in "Victorious" the band is delivering yet another killer melodic metal tune! 

I think that by reading my review above you all asume that I loved this new CROWNE album!! Yes, CROWNE along with DYNAZTY, ECLIPSE, H.E.A.T and a couple of more new bands are among the 'hot' names in today's melodic metal/hard rock scene! "Operation Phoenix" is a big, ballsy and larger than life album that you have to add to your collection!!
