With already eight full-length albums on her back ISSA strikes back with probably her best to-date! In discussing her latest musical adventure, Issa commented: “The new album is my favourite yet, everything was recorded and written in house by Tom and James Martin. We went for a straight up 80s inspired AOR album with a few hard rockers in for good measure, think prime Bon Jovi, Richard Marx and Heart, with even a bit of synthwave in the production. Tom and James really capture the spirit of the 80s and prime melodic Rock. We were lucky to have some great guest musicians get involved, Melvin Brannon Jr, Dennis Butabi Borg, Pete Newdeck, josh Tabbie Williams Leon Winteringham, Phil o' Dea, and Robert Sall to name just a few amazing players.”
The opener tune of "Armed And Dangerous" is an ass-kickin' and very late 80's hard edged rocker with a killer chorus line! Next, in "All These Wild Nights" we are dealing with a powerful and extremely melodic track with a blasting melody in it! One of the best out of this new record and a personal favourite! The bluesy and sentimental ballad of "Only In The Dark" is a beautiful one while with "The Road To Victory" we have yet another highlight out of "Another World"!! This time Issa delivers an amazing, up-beat and melodic AOR gem that will please every die-hard of this scene! With "Another World" we have one of the most harder songs here; edgier guitars, more in-your-face vocals and a more 'metallic' sound in this excellent song!!! The up-lifting "Kick Of Fire", the classic 80's "Got A Hold On Me" and "The Hardest Fight" are all three superb samples and all three will amaze you with their big choruses, the huge melodies and Issa's heart-ful performances!
For sure, this new album by ISSA is a killer no filler melodic rock/AOR gem that can't be missed by each and any fan of this genre! Issa and her partners in crime (Tom and James Martin) created an album with excellent and classy songs and a strong mid 80's vibe in it!!!
