"Strike Of Lightning" the opener is really excellent! It includes an early Last Autumn's Dream vibe in that I just love to listen to!! The chorus is catchy, the guitars are crunchy and overall is a fantastic appetizer of what's coming-up next!! Next, in "Gates Of Paradise" we are dealing with a harder-edged song that is among my personal favorites out of the new opus. The straight-forward "We Are Young" is solid while in "On Top Of The World" we have yet another killer track. This time with a more commercial vibe and a great guitar work this song is simply amazing!!! In "Juliet" we have the participation of Jim Jidhed (ALIEN) who contributes as a second vocalist here and the result is this so beautiful Melodic Rock gem!!! I really loved the edgier "Never Surrender" and the pop-rock "I Belong To You".
For sure, this is a very interesting and high enjoyable release by AUTUMN'S CHILD. Mikael Erlandsson is one of today's best singers, no doubt 'bout that! For the lovers of pure melodic rock/edgy AOR sound but also for the die-hards of Last Autumn's Dream, this is a mandatory purchase!!
