REVIEW : HONEYMOON SUITE, Alive (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 16 February 2024)

Canadian melodic rock/AOR band of HONEYMOON SUITE is set to release their brand new record entitled  'Alive' on February 16, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl and featuring core band members, including Johnnie Dee (Lead Vocals), Derry Grehan (Guitars/Keyboards/Background Vocals), Dave Betts (Drums), Gary Lalonde (Bass), and Peter Nunn (Keyboards).

HONEYMOON SUITE was originally formed in 1981 by lead vocalist and guitarist Johnnie Dee from Niagara Falls, Ontario. After some line-up changes the band took flesh and blood and started recording songs. In 1983, the band entered a demo of “New Girl Now” to a homegrown contest put on by Toronto rock station Q107. They won that year and this led to a multi-album deal with WEA Canada after being signed by Bob Roper.

The band recorded their debut self-titled album which was released in July, 1984. Since their debut release, HONEYMOON SUITE has released a total of seven studio albums with over 1 million units sold worldwide driven by the success of a string of hit singles such as "New Girl Now", "Burning In Love", "Wave Babies", "Stay In the Light", "Feel It Again" and "What Does It Take", to name a few.

They have toured extensively in the US, Canada and Europe with acts such as ZZTop, Heart, Billy Idol, Journey, Bryan Adams, Saga, Loverboy, Jethro Tull and .38 Special to name a few.

Nowadays, the band is ready and alive and kickin' for a new chapter in its career with this brand new release. "ALIVE" in its entire sounds fresh and old-school at the same time, solid and up-to-dated in every way!! All the songs here are filled in with clever melodies, a big groove, some excellent guitar lines and above all with Dee's trademark vocal lines!!

"Alive" is an overall strong rock album that includes some great songs in it, an amazing musicianship that moves gently across the classic Honeymoon Suite sound with the necessery updated pinches that make the final result very very attractive to all the classic rock/AOR fans.
