REVIEW : ECLIPSE, Megalomanium (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 1 September 2023)

ECLIPSE is considering, without any doubt, a leader in today's new wave of Melodic Hard Rock scene. Albums such as Monumentum (2017), Armageddonize (2015) and Bleed & Scream (2012) are all classics in my book.

With already eight full-length records on itssleeves and touring in Japan, Australia, The U.S. and all over Europe ECLIPSE is a band that you HAVE to check it out asap, if you haven't already done so!!!

The band's latest effort "Wired" back in 2021 was an overall great sample of pure edgy and in-your-face melodic hard 'n' heavy music. Nowadays, these Swedes are coming back with a brand new gem entitled "Megalomanium"! The new opus is going to be released through Frontiers Music s.r.l. these September!

"Megalomanium" contains every little thing tht we love to listen to from these guys! Powerful and with tons of attitude vocals by the mastermind of Eclipse Erik Mårtensson, heavy and melodic guitars with some really tasteful solos by Magnus Henriksson and a tight as hell musicianship by the dynamic duo of Philip Crusner (drums) and Victor Crusner (bass). The production here is clystal clear, very professional as always and in general the final result is just killer!

I love the thing that in "Megalomanium" Eclipse achieved to captivate moments and elements from their entire career! The more rough sound of "R U Ready To Rock", the heaviness of "Armageddonize" and "Bleed & Scream", the more melodic and up-beat direction of "Monumentum" along with the newer elements of "Paradigm" that all the above consists an explosive sample!

"Children Of The Night" contains a killer and heavy riffing and it's among the heaviest moments out of the new record!! "Got It" is a track that you love at once with it's punk-ish vibe in it!!"I Don't Get It" is one of these tunes that makes you wanna turn on the volume on a maximum volume; it's heavy, up-beat and with tons of bad-ass attitude enough to tear the walls down! "The Hardest Part Is Losing You" is in my humble opinion one of the best tunes that this band has ever recorded while in "High Road" we are dealing with yet another fast-paced and typical Eclipse rocker! The straight-forward "So Long Farewell Goodbye" and the huge melodic rock anthem of "One Step Closer To You" are great!

Explosive, melodic, up-beat with soaring vocals, choruses to sing-a-long and with killer songs Eclipse with "Megalomanium" comes to deliver yet another breathtaking opus that set easily the canditate for the album of the year!!
