PARIS / ONLY ONE LIFE (2013)

The melodic rock band PARIS has it's roots in the French capital, but, after a short look at the album credits, you will discover that we are dealing with an international melodic project. The two musicians behind PARIS are Frederic Dechavanne and Sebastien Montet. These two are responsible for the lead vocals, the songwriting, the guitars and the keyboards.

PROJECT 4 FOR GUITARIST GIUNTINI

Italian guitar wizard Aldo Giuntini is back for the release of his brand new GIUNTINI PROJECT "IV" album on May 24th 2013.

It has been six years but Aldo is now back with the fourth chapter of his Project. "My way of writing and producing the songs needs a lot of time", he says, "One could say I am a perfectionist, but when I have musical ideas for my guitar, I often have the other guys working with their own inputs: Also I need to have Tony Martin to work on the lyrics at the end, so this takes away a lot of time".

Aldo comments "Project IV continues the line of Project II, III, musically and I' m sure that who loved my 2nd, and 3rd work will appreciate the IV album in the same way and more, since the production work is "a lot improved" this time and produced by Dario Mollo (Mollo / Martin). The sound of Giuntini's work is a combination of "the warmth and the power of BLACK SABBATH "Headless Cross", "Tyre", Rainbow "Long Live Rock & Roll and Rising" and DIO "Holy Diver" with energetic sound of LOUDNESS, the Japanese metal heroes!", while Giuntini's guitar playing is mainly influenced by Akira Takasaki, Vivian Campbell, Edward Van Halen, Jake E. Lee, John Norum and, of course Malmsteen.

Britain's melodic rock heroes FM are back with their new album which is titled "Rockville"! Since their creation, they have released some really impressive albums and put their mark to the melodic rock/AOR scene. Albums such as "Tough It Out", "Aphrodisiac" and their eponymous debut "Indiscreet" are all fine examples of pure melodic bliss with catchy choruses, great performances and superb melodies.

N.O.W. / BOHEMIAN KINGDOM (2013)

N.O.W. is the band of the Brazilian bassist Alec Mendoza and this is its second effort after the good debut. The vocals are handled by the well-known vocalist Philip Bardowell of Unruly Child and the rest of the band consists of Juno Moraes on guitars, Jean Barros on keyboards and Diogo Macedo on drums.

Snowfall originate from the icy Norway, that's why they got their name. The 'mastermind' behind the band is the "PB" Riise who is well-known from his work with the very good band of Winter Parade that released two pretty good efforts. After the 'freezing' of the Winter Parade, "PB" Riise along with guitarist Tore Meli decided to give flesh and bones to a completely new band; and the name..... Snowfall.

DIO DISCIPLES ROCK 'MONSTERS OF ROCK CRUISE,' RAISE MONEY FOR THE RONNIE JAMES DIO STAND UP AND SHOUT CANCER FUND

The lucky fans that were able to attend this year's Monsters of Rock Cruise (which ran from March 16-20, and set sail from Ft. Lauderdale, before taking in such gorgeous tropical locales as Nassau and CocoCay), witnessed performances by countless renowned metal acts - including Cinderella, Tesla, Saxon, Lita Ford, etc. But certainly one of the top standouts of the cruise was Dio Disciples, comprised of members Mark Boals – vocals, Craig Goldy – guitar, Scott Warren – keyboards, Simon Wright – drums, Bjorn Englen – bass, and Oni Logan – vocals.

THE BLACK RAIN: BETWEEN RIVAL SONS AND THE GREEK TELEVISION

Besides the Canadians The Balconies, one of the most promising rock trio into circulation, The Rival Sons, famous Californian band that reached the top in the international charts with the album “Pressure and Time” and after the success with their last “Head Down” that made them be among the winners of the last edition of the Classic Rock Award, appointed The Black Rain to open their concert, which will take place next April 5th in Zona Roveri, Bologna (Italy).

dEMOTIONAL is a well dressed, melodic modern metal-core sixpack from Sweden. The band was formed in 2009 after guitarist and songwriter Sebastian Fjordevik enrolled vocalists Christopher Kristensen and Nils-Petter Nilsson, and experienced death metal drummer, Tommy Magnusson for a song project. The song “When She Cries” was recorded as a music video by director Kristofer "Kiggs" Carlsson and quickly became a huge success. With over 12,000 views on Youtube and over 18,000 visitors on Myspace, the band members knew they all were on their way to becoming an incredible new band. Later on Johan Olofsson was enlisted and with recrui tment of bassist, Kristoffer Lindh, the band was finally completed as dEMOTIONAL.

TAINTED NATION Announces New Guitarist

UK’s modern hard rocker TAINTED NATION have announced the addition of guitarist Joel Peters (FURY) to the group’s ranks.

De La Cruz is a new sensational melodic hard rock band that hails from Australia and they are playing hard rock stuff in the vain of Def Leppard, Winger, Danger Danger and Bon Jovi among others. After their huge "Pandemonium" release in 2010, these Danish melodic metal legends are back with another great effort. I have to say that I'm a big fan of this band; every inch of their album has a special place in my heart and I was looking forward to this new one anxiously.

Joe Satriani unveils track listing and artwork for new album

Legendary performer and the hardest working guitarist in the business, Joe Satriani confirms the release of his 14th studio album, “Unstoppable Momentum” in the UK on Monday May 6 (U.S. release is Tuesday May 7) through Epic Records/Sony Music UK. The album was recorded at Skywalker Sound in San Francisco and was produced by Satriani and Mike Fraser (AC/DC).

Unstoppable Momentum dovetails Satriani’s UK Tour which starts a month later on Saturday 8 June at the Manchester Apollo.

The long awaited “Meridiem” E.P. by Greek prog- heavy metal pioneers is going to be released on the 12th of April 2013. You will be able to purchase it also through the official Wastefall site, which is going to be launched very soon. Limited physical copies will be available sometime after the digital release.

Frontiers Records is excited to announce the anticipated return of THE POODLES with the release of the band's fifth album "Tour de Force" on May 17th in Europe and May 22nd in North America.

“Tour de Force” is the eagerly awaited follow-up to their Swedish No. 1 album from 2011, “Performocracy”. Behind the wheel, taking on the duties of producer for a fourth time, will be Mats Valentin and once again the band wishes to underline with the album title their superb entertaining abilities both as Hard Rocking studio unit and as live act. "When writing and creating music we try to do something that we would love to listen to ourselves. It's always been important for us to do music close to our hearts", says bass player Pontus Egberg. "I do feel however that there’s a newly found playfulness about a lot of the tracks. I’m not quite sure what it is myself but it’s great!"

INTERVIEW : CRUSH (SWEDEN)

As I was surfing along the pages of YouTube I 'crushed' upon a superb slice of pure AOR stuff with the title "In A Blink Of An Eye". The band's name is CRUSH but no further info about 'who is who' yet!!(????). I tried and reached the band's bass player and I asked him to do an interview about the band and its forthcoming release. Unfortunately, I didn't 'discover' their names but I found out many interesting things about them...so are you ready to get crushed ?????

Bass player: Hello, thanks for havin' us.

Heavy Paradise : Firstly, can you tell our readers some things about Crush? When did this band was formed and by whom does it consists of?

Bass player: Crush started of as a project among friends in 2012. All members hail from the same region of Sweden and we share the love for melodic rock and AOR. In 2012 all of us played in various other bands (some still active) which is why Crush started as a side project. Since then we've been working a lot with our sound and material, we've got a lot of stuff coming up. The band consists of 3 swedish rockers, for the time our identities are kept a secret as we want the audience to focus on the songs and not on who we are. Plus, its kinda funny with all speculations hehe.

This stunning duet from Madrid, Spain will release their debut full length album “Mystery Timeline” on Metal Hell Records in early Spring 2013.

Universal Theory performs atmospheric gothic rock – metal featuring dynamic male & female vocals with touches of progressive psychedelic rock. Fans of: The Gathering, Tiamat, Anathema and Type O Negative will definitely want to get hold of this fantastic release and it’s 8 highly memorable tracks!

GODYVA / ALIEN HEART (2013)

The female-fronted band of Godyva is releasing its third opus with the title "Alien Heart". Godyva exists since 2001 and since then has released an EP, "Advent", and two full-length albums "In Good And Evil" and "Planetarium".

Hailed by fans and press as one of the forefathers of the Power Metal genre with his songwriting for the band STRATOVARIUS in the late 90’s and early 00’s, Timo Tolkki has been silently preparing his musical revenge. Following a call in august 2012 from Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino, Tolkki quickly cancelled all plans and started writing new music following an original concept discussed years ago between the artist and Perugino.

Swedish metallers VINDICTIV will release their new album Cage Of Infinity on May 10^th via Escape Music. The cover artwork was done by Carl-André Beckston and the CD was mixed by Lars Chriss (LION’S SHARE), and mastered by Mike Lind.

March 12, 2013 – On April 23, Deadline Records (a division of Cleopatra Records) will release a special edition of THE FLESH AND BLOOD SESSIONS from War & Peace. The collection includes an unreleased track and liner notes from Jeff Pilson.

War & Peace is the all-star line-up of Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Dio, Foreigner) on lead vocals and guitar, Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio, Kill Devil Hill) on drums, Michael Diamond (Legs Diamond) on bass, and Randy Hansen on lead guitar.

THE FLESH AND BLOOD SESSIONS contains the original 1988 studio sessions recorded at the legendary Sound City Studios by Angelo Arcuri (Black Sabbath, Dio, Hellion) and mixed by Neil Kernon (Dokken, Queensryche, Kansas), as well as five tracks chiefly put together by Jeff Pilson in the mid 1990s.

GÜRU the Spanish Rock/Hard Rock band has finished the production of their second album entitled “White” to be released in May 2013.

The album will contain 12 tracks which you can listen to Rock, AOR, Hard Rock, ballads, amazing vocals and virtuosism guitar.

“White” was produced by the band´s guitarrist David Palau (Latin Grammy 2012, Ted Poley, Jimi Jamison). A big symphonic orchestra plays in 2 songs directed and conducted by Grammy winner Joseph Mas and a 20 classical choir participated in the recording of the album.

PARIS to release "Only One Life" via AVENUE OF ALLIES on April 12th!

The Melodic Rock outfit PARIS has its origins in the French capital, but a short look at the album credits of the band's debut record illustrates that we are actually dealing with an international affair.

The two main characters, Frédéric Dechavanne and Sébastien Montet, hail from France, the duo is responsible for the songwriting, the lead vocals, the guitars and the keyboards. The Italian delegation is represented by producer Alessandro Del Vecchio (Lionville, Hardline, Issa), the rhythm section Anna Portalupi (Mitch Malloy, Lionville, Hardline) on bass and Alessandro Mori (Mitch Malloy, Lionville, Axe) on drums. Guests are in-demand Swedish songwriter Robert Säll (Work Of Art, W.E.T.) on guitar and Steve Newman (Newman, Big Life) from the United Kingdom on backing vocals.

INTERVIEW : ANDY ROCK ( WILD ROSE)

Wild Rose is one of the most promising AOR bands of Greece and for sure a big hope for the European melodic rock scene. With their debut album, "Half Past Midnight", achieved to create a solid album full of nice melodies, catchy choruses and really nice guitar work.

Nowadays, the band is back with its second release "Dangerous" and they are aiming for some bigger things! The mastermind behind Wild Rose is the very talented guitarist and songwriter Andy Rock. He is also responsible for a solid solo record last year.

Andy talked to Heavy Paradise about Wild Rose, his solo stuff but also some other cool things. Enjoy!!

Heavy Paradise : Hi, Andy, and welcome to Heavy Paradise for this interview! Firstly, I would like to congratulate you for your brilliant second album with Wild Rose, “Dangerous”. You, guys, achieved to release another great effort after your solid debut! The reviews from all over the net are amazing! Are you satisfied so far by the result of “Dangerous” ?

Andy : Thank You Very much for you kind words...Yes we are very satisfied with the result of our new job cause we gave our best to make it happen!!!

Heavy Paradise : A new singer, David A. Saylor, on board and I have to say that he did an excellent job regarding the vocals! Do you want to tell us what went wrong with your first singer and how did you get in contact with David Saylor?

Andy : David is a great singer with a voice that feets perfectly in our songs ,we were so lucky that we found him available to write the vocals for ''Dangerous''!! We had a lot of problems with the previous singer that cost us as band from the very start ..Thank God now is everything alright..I found David through the social media I've sent him the songs and that's it!!

LANESLIDE to release their debut album "Flying High" on April 12th, 2013!

LANESLIDE is a new Melodic Rock project developed by Italian songwriter / guitarist / producer Bruno Kraler (Brunorock). The international line-up of the band is made up of vocalist extraordinaire Frank Vestry, best known for the successful and critically acclaimed Marcello/Vestry album and the classic one off-record by US Melodic Rockers Last Temptation. Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline, Lionville, Edge of Forever) one of the rising stars of today’s Rock scene plays keyboards and the rhythm section are John Billings (Rick Springfield, Donna Summer, Lancia) on bass and Dominik Hülshorst (ex-Bonfire) on drums.

Danger Angel are very excited to release the first video out of the new "Revolutia" album, titled "When I'm Gone", also featuring Jeff Scott Soto. Revolutia is the sophomore release by Danger Angel, following their debut, same titled album of 2010. "Revolutia" was produced by Jeff Scott Soto and engineered by John Ellis. Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich‘s original band Burning Rain to release new album: "Epic Obsession" in May via Frontiers Records

Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of bluesy hard rockers Burning Rain’s third studio album, EPIC OBSESSION, on May 17th in Europe and May 21st in North America.

Burning Rain was founded by current Whitesnake axeman Doug Aldrich together with singer Keith St. John(ex-Montrose). The line-up for the new album is rounded out by Sean McNabb on bass (ex-Quiet Riot, Dokken, House of Lords) and Mat Starr on drums (Ace Frehley). EPIC OBSESSION comes after a long hiatus from the release of the band’s second album, PLEASURE TO BURN, in 2000.

Of EPIC OBSESSION, Aldrich commented, “I think we have a good batch of songs that will stand up. It’s a melodic blues rock approach to the band’s sound. It’s really the only thing I have done outside of Whitenake in the last ten years.”

Press: Redrum is a melodic Hard Rock band based in Thessaloniki (Greece). Athan 'Lyssa' Kazakis and Panos Baxevanis founded the project during September 2003. About a year later, they had recorded 12 songs in a local studio. At this point the band still wasn´t complete in the way of needed members.

COVERED CALL / IMPACT (2013)

Covered Call : an expression used in financial circles depicting a picture of Wall Street, big cities, and the frenzy of the stock market. Covered Call, the band, was born in a small carpentry shed in the dark, deep forests of Sweden. The contrast couldn't be greater between the band and their name.

KALEDON / Altor: The King's Blacksmith (2013)

This is album number seven for the veteran Power metallers KALEDON, the first following the celebrated "Legend Of The Forgotten Reign" saga which was introduced in the song "Steel Maker", from the band's 2012 best of release. "Altor: The King's Blacksmith" narrates the life of the man who forged the sword that killed Mozul, the evil creature that upset the peace and tranquility of the Kingdom in the last chapter of saga.

Italian hard rockers VOODOO HIGHWAY have revealed the cover artwork and tracklist of their recently announced second studio album “Showdown“, the worldwide release is scheduled for April 26 via Dust On The Tracks Records through Sony (Europe), MVD (USA), RSK (UK), Universal (Canada).

The pure AOR of the international recording project CHARMING GRACE is based on the idea of writing songs in the classic style of the 80s and recording them as duets. To give the record its own identity all songs are sung by one main lead vocalist while the featured duet partners are picked individually for each tune because of their special musical talents. The concept was developed by Pierpaolo "Zorro 11" Monti (drums – Shining Line, Lionville) together with Davide "Dave Rox" Barbieri (lead vocals & keyboards – Wheels Of Fire) and Amos Monti (bass - Shining Line, Lionville).

After having met in 2010 through their mutual friend Gregor Klee, owner of the Avenue Of Allies label, the trio soon discovered that they have a love for AOR and Melodic Rock in common. Already during 2011 the trio made plans how to combine their talents and the brain storming began which guests should be invited for the recordings of each song. As far as it comes to handling an all-star project, Zorro and Amos had already the experience of their successful self-titled SHINING LINE album (2010, Avenue 10040012) under their belts. Dave has also worked with various internationally renowned musicians, like James Christian (House Of Lords), Robin Beck, Rob Marcello (Danger Danger) and Michele Luppi (Los Angeles, Secret Sphere) for the recordings of the two albums of his own band WHEELS OF FIRE, “Hollywood Rocks” (2010, Avenue 10070015) and “Up For Anything” (2012, Avenue 12080046).
