2010 was a dark day in Gotthard world and in the hard rock world cause that year Steve Lee was killed in a traffic accident in the U.S. Gotthard took their time and after one and a half year they decided to take the next step to the band career. Nic Maeder was the man that took the place behind the mic as the band's lead singer and a new chapter began. The current line-up consistis of Leo Leoni (guitars), Freddy Scherer (guitar), Hena Habegger(drums) and Nic Maeder on lead vocals.
The new album is overall a great comeback for these legendery rockers. It's a bridge between the past and present and it combines perfectly the classic Gotthard sound with a more up-to-dated and aggressive sound. But at the end it's 100% Gotthard!!!!
"Thunder And Lightning" is a classic up-beat, punchy and melodic Gotthard song and a future classic! Melodies to die for, crunchy guitars and this amazing chorus line and hook that you are going to sing-a-long for days!! Excellent tune! "Burning Bridges"is a softer, more AOR-ish, track with a beautiful melody in it while in "Drive My Car" we have a solid cover of this classic song!! "Boom Boom" is a fist in the air powerful track with lots of energy and, of course, this one will be a future live favorite!! The emotional ballad "Life" is simply amazing and breathtaking and reminds you of the band's earlier days while with "Liverpool", "Shake Shake" and "Devil In The Moonlight" we have three ass-kickin' rockers that must be played on maximum volume!!
Overall this is a great record all the way! GOTTHARD with their brand new "Stereo Crush" comes to rock our world with their pure, fistful, emotional and up-beat music! Highly recommended!
