KALEDON / Altor: The King's Blacksmith (2013)

This is album number seven for the veteran Power metallers KALEDON, the first following the celebrated "Legend Of The Forgotten Reign" saga which was introduced in the song "Steel Maker", from the band's 2012 best of release. "Altor: The King's Blacksmith" narrates the life of the man who forged the sword that killed Mozul, the evil creature that upset the peace and tranquility of the Kingdom in the last chapter of saga.

Their music is classic power metal stuff with plenty of melodies, double ass-kickin' drums, 'hellish' guitar lines and performances. All of the songs are well-written and there is no average moment here or a single filler. After the evil and in the same time 'dark' intro of "Innocence", comes the first tune of "Childhood". A really impressive start and a song that grabs you from the start and takes you into the KALEDON's world!! Tight arrangements, an in-your-face drumming and a killer riff in this amazing track. "My Personal Hero", the symphonic "A New Beginning" and the 'catchy' "A Dark Prison" are the highlights here!!

Overall, this is a solid power metal album all the way! It has attitude and some well-crafted tracks that lead you right into Kaledon's world! For the fans of classic power metal sound with blistering drums, melodies, screaming guitars and some high-pitched vocal performances this is your album! Check it out!!
Heavy Paradise's Rating : 7,5/10
