Nitrate wasformed back in 2015 in in Nottingham, England, by bass player Nick Hogg. With its record the band shows off its love for the mid 80's, early 90's, melodic rock/hard rock scene and it's inspired by bands such as Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and Journey to name a few.
For the debut opus, "Real Life", back in 2018, Nick brought in Rob Wylde (Tigertailz, Midnite City) to get the project started and help with the song writing/recording process; Joss Mennen (Zinatra, Mennen) on vocals gave an authentic 80’s sound, Pete Newdeck (Eden’s Curse, Vega, Grim Reaper) mixed the album and played drums with the whole thing being mastered by Harry Hess of Harem Scarem fame. In 2019, the band released its second record entitled "Open Fire" with a new singer on board Philip Lindstrand (Find Me, East Temple Avenue). In their next album, "Renegade", NITRATE brough on board the 'mighty' Alexander Strandell (ART NATION, CROWNE) on vocals. The album sold out of print and again it was featured in 2021’s “Best of the Year” reviews.
The new opus features some excellent and up-beat tracks that will delight not only the fans of NITRATE but also the ones of this genre. Songs such as the ultra melodic "Needs a Little Love", the punchy and very 80's "Wild In The City", "Satellite", the anthemic "Strike Like A Hurricane" and the fantastic power ballad of "One Kiss (To Save My Heart)" (featuring Issa) are all killers that includes some excellent and powerful performances, catchy hooks, edgy guitars and melodies to die for!!
For sure, NITRATE with their brand new "Feel The Heat" are ready to unleash their melodic heat to each and every single fan of this scene! Killer album!
