REVIEW : Marenna - Voyager (Label: Lions Pride Music, Rel. Date: 30 September 2022)

Brazilian melodic rock shouter Rod Marenna and his band MARENNA strikes back in business with his brand new effort entitled "Voyager". The new opus is out through Danish label Lions Pride Music and as in the previous and solid "No Regrets", in 2017, the same this time continues to deliver pure, old-fashioned and up-beat melodic harrd rock stuff.

Except of the full-length "No Regrets" the band has also released two more EP's. "My Uncoditional Faith" in 2015 and "Pieces Of Tomorrow" in 2020.

The opener "Breaking The Chains" kickis-off things here in a very impressive and much heavier way. Somewhere between Dokken and Tyketto this little gem sounds like the great appetizer of what's to follow next!!! The groovier "Out Of Line" is just great late 80's hard rock while with "Wait" we have a totally gem of a track; up-tempo with a huge chorus line and a crunchier guitar this tune is a monster!!!

The melodic "I Ain't No Stranger To Love" is yet another excellent sample of pure melodic rock bliss while in "Perfect Crime" and  "Too Young To Die" we are dealing with two of this record's best tracks. More power, more big guitars and more attitude in these really two great rockers. As a bonus we find a really solid cover of Hall & Oates classic "So Close".

Bottom line is that what we have here from MARENNA's brand new opus is an excellent, solid and ultra melodic sample that after the very first listening you're gonna push the repeat button again and again!! One of this year's top releases!!!
