REVIEW : Come Taste the Band --- REIGNITION (AOR Heaven, Release Date :25.01.2019 )

Come Taste the Band is a Norwegian heavy rock/classic hard rock band that was founded back in 1997 by guitarist Jo Henning Kaasin and singer Vidar Heldal. The band in its early days was a Deep Purple cover band and released two CD`s with Deep Purple songs; "A Tribute To Deep Purple" in 1999 and "Live" in 2006.

In 2007, the band participated in the Norwegian festival, Kartfestivalen along with former Deep Purple singer/bass player, Glenn Hughes. In 2011, Come Taste the Band teamed up with former Deep Purple/Rainbow-singer, Joe Lynn Turner. JLT & CTTB toured Scandinavia, doing both Rainbow and Deep Purple material.
2014 also saw the band doing two concerts with former Rainbow singers, Doogie White and Graham Bonnet + Norwegian singer, JORN Lande. Come Taste the Band have changed the line-up several times during the next years, with only leader and guitarist, Jo Henning Kaasin, singer Vidar Heldal and bass player Ståle Naas staying constant in the band.

Nowadays, the band is releasing its debut opus, through AOR Heaven, which is entitled "Reignition". The new album features, also, Doogie White and Joe Lynn Turner.

So, as you can all assume from the above small bio, the band is playing a true classic hard rock in the vain of early Rainbow, Deep Purple and Whitesnake. All the songs here are 'smell' late 70's, early 80's, and are well-composed, well-performed and the album is a must have for each and every classic rocker out there. I think that it's useless to review each song separately 'cause every track here recalls the glory days of the above mentioned bands. The last think that I have to add is that Come Taste The Band is damn fine act that will gain many 'old' fans of this scene but also, some new rockers tat want to hear something different.

Rating : 7/10
