In 2002, Danko Jonesreleased its debut "Born A Lion" and something really good was started. After that many and good albums were followed such as "Bellow The Belt", "Fire Music", "Wild Cat' and "Power Trio" to name a few.
Nowadays, the band is ready to unleash its brand new and already 11th official album entitled "Electric Sounds" through AFM Records.
“Not working for two years really felt like touring rock bands were being put out to pasture,” recalls Danko. “But I guess that only made us try harder. We were still able to record and release an album during the pandemic (Power Trio, 2021). We toured as soon as we were allowed. Now that Electric Sounds is getting released, it doesn’t feel like we missed a beat. During the pandemic, we moved away from each other. JC lives in Finland and Rich lives in Prince Edward Island. So the writing for this band has changed. We used to bash out ideas in our rehearsal place, day after day, but it’s more about sending files back and forth now. However, last summer, while on tour, we did manage to jam out ideas in a rehearsal room in Berlin for a few days. Out of those jams came the nubs for five songs…”
The new album includes all the classic Danko Jones elements in all its glory! Powerful vocals, a bad-ass attitude, heavy and crunchy guitars, this so cool AC/DC vibe and some really catchy as hell chorues to die for!!! The ass-kickin' opener of "Guess Who's Back" is just killer with a chorus line enough to bring the walls down! The groove in "Electric Sounds" is phenomenal while in "Get High" we have yet another killer and more commercial rock 'n' roll gem. The punkier "She's My Baby" is a cool tune and with "I Like It" we are dealing with a solid and more in a 70's vibe rock track. I also loved the heavier and 'darker' tune of "Shake Your City"!!
If you love Danko Jones eralier works, then you probably love this one, period! Danko Jones' music is powerful, high-energetic, in-your-face and full of attitude!!! A very enjoyable and balls to the walls album that can't be missed by any serious rock fan out there!!!
