WIGELIUS / REINVENTIONS (2012)

Wigelius is a new sensational melodic rock band from Sweden that consists of Andres Wigelius , a very talented singer that came to the attention of  producer Daniel Flores (ISSA) after he sang the popular Journey tune of "Don't Stop Believen'"in a contest of the Swedish TV.



The band plays a great mix of 80's melodic hard rock stuff with 'big' and extremely melodic keyboards along with catchy choruses and powerful performances!! Wigelius grew up with bands such as Richard Marx, Toto, Journey, Bon Jovi and all these influences reflects to their music. There is a feel-good vibe in all over the album and "Reinventions" is a very enjoyable ride from start to finish. I really enjoyed every single minute of this album and believe me there is not a filler in sight!! Besides the great vocal performances, another thing that impressed me in this album is the guitar work!! Yes, Jake Svensson is doin' an excellent work here with his inspired riffs and solos! Highlights here are the great guitar-driven tune of "Angeline", the anthemic "Next To Me", the 80's "My Cassandra" and the fantastic and so emotional ballad of "There Is No Me Without You".

All in all, this is a solid and extremely melodic release that will put a big smile upon the face of every AOR/Melodic Rock fan out there! Catchy songs, a tight musicianship, amazing guitar work and a very very talented front-man!!! For sure, this band has a bright future!!!!
