REVIEW : Counterline - Two (Rel. Date: 30 September 2024, Label: Lions Pride Music )

Counterline is a band that originally was formed back in 2017 by Harold Waller and GG Andreas. Drawing on their extensive experience and having shared stages with legendary acts such as Scorpions, Cinderella, Twisted Sister, and Sebastian Bach, the duo infused their music with the best elements of classic melodic rock, complemented by a distinctly U.S. flavor.

The band's debut record, "One", released on August 30, 2021. The debut received some great critics and gained positive feedback from both fans and music press. Nowadays, the band is ready to take things a level up with its brand new opus simply entitled "Two". The new effort is released by Lions Pride Music

"Night Of Rock 'n' Roll" kicks-off things here with a heavier approach and, of course, with a more American hard rock 80's vibe in it that makes it one of the new album's highlights. For sure, a great start and an apetizzer of what's to follow-up next. "Away" and "Fantasy" are both solid samples of classic hard rock stuff and shows off the abilities of this band to write tight, 'clever' and edgy melodic hard rock songs. In "Tears Of The Fallen Angel" we are dealing with a more AOR-ish tune that includes a nice chorus and some excellent harmonies in it. "Hanging By A Thread" is one of my personal favorites here; more commercial with again a huge hookline this one must be played on a maximum volume.

Other highlights here are the edgy "My Voice Won't Fade" with its killer guitar work, "Beast Unleashed" and "Beyond".

Bottom line is that COUNTERLINE with its second atempt take things a level up and leaves a promise for even bigger things for the future. Well done!
