REVIEW : Ann My Guard -- Ourania (2017)

Ann My Guard is a female heavy rock band that was formed in 2007 by bassist-singer Eszter Anna Baumann-Toth. Since it's creation, the band has already released 2 EP's and a full-length record, "Innocence Descent", and they all received a positive feedback from fans and press.

Nowadays, Ann My Guard is releasing its second full-length album with the title "Ourania".

Ann My Guard is a band that plays heavy rock music and includes beautiful melodies, some excellent vocal lines, a 'darker' and kinda of melancholic vibe and modern heavy guitars. My first impression, and especially after listening to "Asteria", is that this band has a 'special' touch in its music. It's all the above mentioned things plus something 'magic' that makes Ann My Guard's music extraordinary. "Callisto" grabs you with it's big modern sound, imagine something close to edgier Cranberries, and "Breath The Sun" is another highlight out of this new record. Darker and melancholic with a haunting melody that sticks to your mind at once. The heavier "Hekate" is an absolute gem while in "The Secret" we are dealing with yet another moodier and 'darker' tune,

This is a surprisingly good record!! Beautiful, emotional and with a moodier feeling, 'Ourania' comes out of nowhere to offer us an album that will fill our heart and soul with emotions!
