ROBIN BECK / THE GREAT ESCAPE (2011)

Robin Beck is a very talented and successful singer that with the number one single "First Time" made a huge success back in the late 80's. So, the Melodic Rock's Queen is back with her new release which is called "The Great Escape".

In "The Great Escape" Robin has the valuable help of her husband, James Christian (House Of Lords) as a producer but, also, the help of the mighty Tommy Denander as co-producer. Tommy Denander's help is big as he is playing the lead guitars, some keys parts but, also, some drums! In this album we also have in the backing vocals the contribution of Robin and James' daughter, Olivia. So, with all the above help the final result is almost brilliant.

Beck is returning to some melodic 80's forms and most of the songs seem that they were written back in the late 80's, early 90's. "The One" is the track that opens the album and it's a pure melodic rock bliss! Everything in this tune is perfect! The chorus line is catchy as hell and it has a huge melody! A song that is going to be for sure in my top favourite tracks this year. "Inside Of Me" and "Got Me Feeling Sexy" are both classic melodic rock tunes with some really good guitar work by Tommy Denander. "Everything Is Alright" is another brilliant sample from this album. "Cross My Heart" is one more favorite from "The Great Escape", again with a catchy chorus line and Beck's passionate performance!

All in all, I have to say that "The Great Escape" is a solid release with some amazing tracks in it. It's really difficult to find a weak moment here. Probably one of the best, to date, Robin Beck's releases. Well done!
