REVIEW : Rob Moratti - Paragon (AOR Heaven, out: 30.10.2020)

For those who love pure melodic rock/AOR sound, the name of Rob Moratti is for sure no stranger to them. Mostly known as the lead shouter of Final Frontier and SAGA, Moratti achieved to build a strong reputation around its name all those years.

As a solo artist, Rob Moratti released some excellent albums and collaborated with many musicians. Nowadays, Moratti is back in business with his brand new opus entitled "Paragon" that is going to be released through AOR Heaven this Ocober.

All the songs in "Paragon" are filled with big harmonies, catchy hooks an choruses and, most of all, with the soulful and amazing vocals by Moratti. A great list of guests complete the line-up of this really surprisignly strong opus. Ulrick Lönnqvist, Pete Alpenborg, Felix Borg, Ken Sandin and Torben Enevoldsen on lead n' rhythm guitars and keyboards, Stu Reid on drums and Tony Franklin on the monster bass. A couple of special guests on lead guitars are Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake) and Ian Crichton.

After a couple of spins of "Paragon", I have to say that this is an album that will please each and every single fan of Moratti and the AOR freaks, in general. It's edgy, passionate, powerful and melodic as it gets. Songs like "I'm Falling", the ultra fantastic "What Have We Become", "Remember", "Picking Up The Pieces", "Break The Chains" and the guitar-driven "Bullet Proof Alibi" are top-notch, high-tech AOR stuff at its highest order. To be honest, I didn't find any weak moment or something average here; each song is flawed with class and melody and in general it is a damn fine record!

Rob Moratti is back with one of his best works to-date. Pure class edgy AOR/Melodic Rock stuff at its best. Highly recommended!
