REVIEW : ROBIN BECK --- Love Is Coming (2017)

The first thing that comes into my mind by listening the name of Robin Beck is the song "First Time". This song was Beck's first major success back in the late 80's. It was released in 1988 and it was originally recorded for Coca-Cola's commercial in 1987.

Since then, Robin Beck has released several albums and has, also, collaborated with many musicians. Nowadays, Beck is back in business with a brand new record simply titled "Love Is Coming". Her new opus marks Robin's partnering with Frontiers RecordsClif Magness (Steve Perry, Avril Lavigne) and James Christian produced and mixed the album and Maor Appelbaum handled the mastering.

The new album kicks-off with "Island". A nice rocker that includes soulful vocals, crunchy guitars and a really cool chorus line. Nice start! "On The Bright Side" is better, up-tempo and with more attitude. "In These Eyes" is the first slow moment that features Beck's amazing and passionate voice along with a moodier vibe that makes this one a highlight out of this new album.

"Love Is Coming" and the groovier "Me Just Being Me" are two more solid samples that both include strong arrangements and good guitar work. The modern and heavier "Crave The Touch" is a bit average, at least for my tastes, and with "Girl Like Me" Beck delivers yet another strong rocker with a catchy chorus line.

"Love Is Coming" is a really nice comeback for this legendary singer. A bit modern but still very melodic with Beck's trademark vocals in front raw,"Love Is Coming", will be appreciated by any fan of the melodic rock scene in general. Well done!
