REVIEW : MOTORFINGER -- EVILUTION (2017)

Oslo's alternative heavy rockers MOTORFINGER are releasing nowadays their brand new EP with the title "Evilution". The band has already released an EP, "Coming In Clear", in 2011 and these days is back with its brand new mini album and the sure thing is that will make an impact to the fans of this particular scene.

Their sound is movin' between Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and Mother Love Bone but with a more updated and fresh sound that makes it extremely enjoyable from start to finish. Maurice Adams’ vocals are a cross between Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, and occasionally even recall those of Serj Tankian (System of a Down).

The guitars are heavy with an epic sound in it and the rhythm section is tight! To be honest, this kinda of music is not my cup of tee but I have to say that these guys here grabbed my attention at once. Their music is extremely interesting and all the compositions are solid enough to make them play on maximum volume. The lack of melodies (which are for me a strong point in music) did not bother me at all. Motorfinger are aggressive and pissed off and that's a thing that reflects in their music, in every single moment of this EP.

If you are a fan of bands such as Alice In Chains, System Of A Down or Soundgarden, then check out this EP. Motorfinger is a band that has the right attitude, the songs and the will to become big in this genre.

Rating : 8/10
