BASTARDOGS / "No Pain No Gain" (2013)

Bastardogs is a new sleaze hard rock band that has its roots in the L.A. sleaze scene and after several years they finally present their debut release which is entitled "No Pain No Gain". The fact is that this band was trying hard for years to find a permanent line-up and was working real hard to present serious stuff but now Bastardogs is here with this debut and a record deal with Street Symphonies Records.

As I already mentioned above, their music is influenced by the sleaze hard rock scene of the 80's and bands such as Motley Crue, W.A.S.P. e.t.c and that means loud guitars, a 'nasty' attitude and in-your-face performances!   The truth here is that this band has talent and delivers some really excellent samples of pure powerful sleaze metal stuff in an old-fashioned way. Highlights here are the 80's sleaze punk-ish tune of "Last Night", the up-tempo ass-licking "Bad Dogs", "Snakehead", my personal favorite "Bit You Down" and of course "Sex Machine"!!!  

A very good record all the way! All of the songs here have the right attitude, are well-performed with powerful performances, the guitar sound is solid and the only problem here is the weak production! I enjoyed this release a lot and every time I listen to it, it brings me memories from another era...a glory era of the late 80's, early 90's L.A. Sunset Strip!! Taste it!!
