Following the footsteps of her critically acclaimed and solid second solo opus, "Strong," Anette Olzon once again teams up with acclaimed Swedish axe-man and producer Magnus Karlsson ( STARBREAKER, PRIMAL FEAR, ALLEN/LANDE) to craft a musical experience that pushes boundaries and excites the senses. Together, they have gathered a collection of songs that showcase Anette's unparalleled vocal range, combined with Karlsson's masterful riffs and the addition of growls by Johan Husgafvel, adding a dynamic layer to the album's sound.
Renowned mixer Jacob Hansen, known for his work with Pretty Maids, Volbeat, and The Dark Element, returns to the fold to ensure that "Rapture" achieves the perfect balance between heaviness and hookiness, resulting in an album that is both impactful and memorable.
The leading single "Heed The Call" is an overall big track by any meaning! The orchestral intro, the big sound along with Olzon's powerful vocals make this single a killer one! The classic symphonic metal hymn of "The Rapture" is again a highlight, The more 'theatrical' tune of "Requiem" shows once again Olzon's beautiful voice mixing with Karlsson's inspired riffs and solos that at the end of the day are creating a solid track for your ears' pleasure!! The moodier and kinda of darker "Arise" is one of my personal favorites out of the new record while in "Cast Evil Out" we are dealing with a fast-paced and more classic power metal song! "Hear My Song" kicks-off amazingly with Anette's beautiful voice, a piano and a fantastic haunting melody that somewhere in the middle the song explodes with the guitar solo of Magnus which is simply BREATHTAKING!!!
With her brand new third solo release Anette Olzon has shown us, once again, what an amazing and unique singer is! Her voice is unique! The addition of Magnus Karlsson on guitars is the cherry on top!!! Highly recommended!!!
