John Altman (aka Johnny Rio and EastEnders' Nasty Nick Cotton) took over the vocals after a long hiatus and several line-up changes from the late original singer and his friend Gary Holton, also known from the 80s TV series Auf Wiedersehen Pet.
In fact John taking over coincided with the 25th anniversary of Gary's death. Unfortunately John has had to step down as the new well loved vocalist due to prearranged acting commitments. With an opening in the front, Phil Lewis is the perfect choice to complete The Heavy Metal Kids line up.
The Heavy Metal Kids will be doing a special London show on May 29th at Camden Underworld to introduce the man who needs no introduction at all - Phil Lewis. Rumour has it there will only be 50 tickets for sale to the general public and the rest will be VIP invite invitations only!
