KING KOBRA / KING KOBRA (2011)

So, another of the so called 'classic' hard rock bands are back with their brand new release. King Kobra, in my humble opinion, was always a very good band with a couple of stunning albums but, also, some average too. Mark (now Marcie) Free was the band's lead singer and with him they had released some really strong albums.

The band nowadays consists of David Michael-Philips on guitars, Mick Sweda on drums, Johnny Rod on bass and Paul Shortino on lead vocals! I have to say that I was a bit warry about this release. I mean that I didn't know what to expect about King Kobra in 2011. But after some listenings of this album I realized that this album is very good. Ok, it's not a masterpiece or this year's best release but, for sure, it's a solid one with some excellent tunes in it, a strong production and Shortino's powerfull performances! The band looks tight and the musicianship is over the top. Highlights here are "Rock This House", "Tear Down The Walls", "Crying Turns To Rain" and "You Make It Easy".

All in all, this is a very interesting release from these hard rock veterans with some good tracks and a solid production.
