Pride Of Lions is a band that consists of legendary Jim Peterik (Survivor) and powerhouse lead vocalist Toby Hitchcock. Together as a team they have already released five solid albums and nowadays they are ready to unleash record number six entitled "Lion Heart".
For those who are familiar with Pride Of Lions music, the sure thing is that with the brand new opus they will find the same big melodies, the same catchy choruses and the same classic 80's AOR vibe as in the previous recordings.
The opening tune of "Lion Heart" is pure and classic SURVIVOR at its best!! I mean that this tune could easily appear in any of Survivor's earlier recordings. The vocals, the arrangements and the vibe sounds like it jumped out of Survivor's classic albums! Excellent song! "We Play For Free", "Heart Of The Warrior" and "Good Thing Gone" are all three strong samples of pure and top notch AOR songs that all include powerful performances, memorable hooks and this 'sweet' mid 80's vibe! The power ballad of "Unfinished Heart" is one of the new album's highlights while with the ultra commercial "Give It Away" and the 'heavier' "You Are Not A Prisoner" we have two more winners out of "Lion Heart".
Top notch, high quality and passionate AOR/Melodic Rock stuff played with heart and soul; that's the words to describe the new Pride Of Lions opus. Highly recommended for every AOR freak out there!!!
