REVIEW : Atlas – Parallel Love (AOR Heaven, out: 25.09.2020)

After the solid debut opus, the Brit melodic rock act of ATLAS is releasing the second album with the title "Parallel Love". The writting sessions for "Parallel Love" started shortly after the succesful tour with Midnite City and Age Of Reflection between autumn and winter of 2019.

The band continues, as in the debut, to deliver strong and edgy AOR stuff with references to the classic melodic rock scene of the mid 80's, early 90's, with a more updated and modern twist. The album line-up consists of Craig Wells (Vocals), Howie Little (Guitar), James Thorley (Keyboards), Chris Redfearn (Bass) and Ryan Briggs (Drums). James Thorley took on the role of producer and recording engineer, with Christoffer Borg (Art Nation, Taste) once again taking over the role of mixing and mastering.

The whole thematology of "Parallel Love" is about the human relationships and the life's ups and downs. All the songs here are well-arranged, well-performed and includes strong melodies, crunchy and edgy guitars with solid performances.

Highlights of the new record are the ultra-melodic tune of "In Your Head", the 'classy' AOR "Human Touch", "Dare To Love", the anthemic "Early Warning" and "Beyond The Limit".

A totally enjoyable and very entertaining opus all the way. ATLAS is a melodic rock band that has the 'whole package' to aim for bigger things in the near future. For now, do yourself a favor and check out the brand new "Parallel Love" and you'll discover a great album all the way.
