REVIEW : TNT --- Encore Live in Milano (Frontiers Music s.r.l., Release: 22 March 2019)

TNT is a great band, there's no doubt 'bout that. I, personally, grew up with their albums and sound. From the epic metal debut of "TNT" (in the band's mother language) to the totally classics "Tell No Tales" (1987) and "Intuition" (1989) this band was always a synonymous to quality, melodies, the crazy guitar riffs n' solos and, of course, the amazing vocals by Tony Harnell.

The more U.S. flavored "Realized Fantasies" and the modern and more complex "Firefly" were both strong recordings from a band that always wanted to deliver something new, something fresh to its fans. Back in 2004, TNT released a monster of an album entitled "My Religion" and put a wide smile upon the face of every die-hard fan out there.

After the very good live "Live In Madrid" (2006), Tony Harnell left he band and Tony Mills replaced him behind the mic. With Mills, the band released four records but all four were far away from the band's classic sound with Harnell. "XIII" was TNT's latest album (trough Frontiers Music) with a new singer; Bardot Bulsara

Nowadays, Frontiers Music s.r.l. presents a special live album, recorded during TNT’s headlining set at Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan in April 30, 2017. This one is the last one with singer Tony Harnell on board.

This live album entitled "Encore Live In Milano" features songs that cover the entire career of TNT (with Harnell as a lead singer). Some of the classic tunes that are featured here are "As Far As The Eye Can See", "Tonight I’m Falling", "Intuition", "Forever Shine On", "Listen To Your Heart"  and "10,000 Lovers" to name a few.  Of course, there are some tracks from the band's recent years such as "She Needs Me", "Give Me A Sign" and "Invisible Noise" for the extra 'flavor'. The voice of Tony Harnell is on top form, as always, and the rest of the band is tight. LeTekro's guitar lines are amazing and in general this is a live album that every fan of this band should own.

Overall, this is an extremely enjoyable and strong live performance from a classic band. It's really nice to listen to Tony Harnell performing with such a passion all these classic songs. A mandatory purchase.

Rating : 9/10
