BAD HABIT / ABOVE AND BEYOND (2009)

This was the first Bad Habit album under the AOR Heaven record label and I have to say that this is a really impressive effort! Their previous album, "Hear-Say" was a good one but for sure not their best album to date. With "Above And Beyond", the boys are back to some huge-melodic rock formulas full of big sing-a-long choruses. Once again the producer of "Above And Beyond" is Jonas Reingold who did an excellent work.

The sound is crystal-clear, the melodies are over the top and there are some brilliant tunes here! Ok, maybe I was expecting some more hard hittin' tunes but hey, you can't have it all! Vocalist Bax Fehling delivers a high-class performance in each and every song, the guitar work is overall good and the rhythm section is solid! "Let Me Be The One" is a brilliant track! It's one of these mid-tempo tunes that with each listening creates strong emotions to the listener. "I Believe" is a nice and rockier tune with some harder guitar sound, "Let Me Tell You" is excellent and "Never Gonna Give You Up" is my personal favourite!

Overall, this is an excellent melodic album. Bad Habit shows that fairly is considered as one of the best melodic rock acts in this scene! For the fans of pure melodic rock sound with big and catchy choruses this one is for you!
