REVIEW : RIAN, Twenty-Three (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 16 July 2021)

RIAN is a melodic rock band that made its appearence back in 2017 with its debut entitled “Out Of The Darkness”. The album received great feedback from both fans and music press.

"We are really pleased to sign with Frontiers Music Srl. Since our first contact, the label has been nothing but helpful. We feel right at home with the support we’ve received so far and look forward to using this relationship to enable us to provide our fans with a steady supply of quality music for the years to come" explains vocalist and guitar player Richard Andermyr

The sound of RIAN can be described as classic melodic rock with references to bands such as Bon Jovi, Survivor, Giant and The Storm to name a few. The new record, "Twenty-Three", is going to be released through Frontiers Music this July.

Songs like "In The Dark", the smooth and silk "Where Do We Run", the fantastic mid-tempo "For Your Heart", the beautiful ballad of "My Ocean" (wich reminded me a bit of HEARTLAND's earlier works) and the rockers "Body And Soul" and "The Passenger" are all great samples of pure and old-fashioned melodic rock at its best!!

RIAN with their brand new "Twenty-Three" opus deliver an overall extremely melodic slice of pure AOR disc that can't be missed by any fan of this genre. If you love bands such as Giant, Survivor, Heartland, Bad English and Bon Jovi, then this is a must have!

  1. RIAN recaptures the energy and excitement of the 80s. If you were lucky enough to be a concert goer when bands like Journey, Aerosmith, Jeff Beck and Styx were new then RIAN is for you.

Listening to the album Twenty-Three, I found myself back in the old beater car, loaded with my friends headed to see one of those great bands with RIAN blaring on the quad-cassette deck instead of Rush.

Every song from this album is an 80s hit song. As the reviewer noted "...can't be missed by any fan of this genre" I'll be first in line for those US Tour concert tickets.
