REVIEW : ELECTRIC MOB, Discharge (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 12 June 2020)

Frontiers new big bet is called ELECTRIC MOB. This Brazilian new hard rock band is ready to shake things a bit with its new opus entitled "Disharge". A damn fine mix of 70's, 80's and, of course, 90's hard rock stuff is featured in this new and very exciting record that the sure thing is that will gain the die hards of this particular scene.

The band says that "there isn’t anything like being able to contribute to the world of hard rock music and we are sure that we couldn’t be in a better place to do it than here with Frontiers. Doing what you love most is the greatest feeling ever and when heavy, mean, and dirty rock n roll is what you love, well…that’s the dream!"

As I already mentioned above, Electric Mob playing a strong mix of 80's hard rock that includes a big bad groove in it, powerful vocals, a hard-bluesy vibe and strong arrangements that makes "Disharge" an extremely interesting release for every hard rock fan out there in general.

The first highlight comes with the bad-ass groovy tune of "Devil You Know". A damn cool track that 'smells' bourbon, smoke and dirty rock 'n' roll from miles away. Apart from the big groove here, the vocals of Renan Zonta are top notch!! Excellent stuff! "Got Me Runnin'" is yet another killer song out of "Disharge". A more in a Led Zep direction this one with "Got Me Runnin'" Electric Mob payin their dues to the music they grew up with. The classic mid 80's "Far Off" is edgier and it's again a highlight here while with "Your Ghost" the band delivers a moodier and kinda off 'darker' tune. "Burn" and "Upside Down" are two tracks that feature a more 'alternative' an heavier vibe but both are solid.

For sure, Electric Mob's newest opus, "Disharge", is an extremely interesting record all the way. These youngsters from Brazil achieved to release an opus that combines perfectly all the spectrum of the rock scene in general. If you love bands such as Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Guns N Roses and Audioslave, to name a few, then be sure to check out this gem asap. I'm sure that we are going to hear bigger things from Electric Mob in the near future.
