REVIEW : PRETTY WILD --- INTERSTATE 13 (2019)

Pretty Wild is a melodic heavy rock band from Sweden that founded back in 2006. The band's first step came with a three-track EP that gained positive feedback from fans and press.

After that Pretty Wild toured around Europe and a new EP, "All The Way" saw the light of day. In 2014 the band recorded and released its debut opus simply entitled "Pretty Wild". A record that contained some killer tunes in and showed up the abilities of the band to write catchy and up-tempo songs.

Nowadays Pretty Wild strikes back with its second album with the title "Interstate 13".

The opening tune of "Let's Get It Out" is the first highlight of "Interstate 13". Heavier than the band's earlier works with a strong dose of Reckless Love in it and a chorus line to sing-a-long. "Superman" is the first single and it's again a solid tune. A guitar-driven modern hard rock stuff that I like a lot. "Wild And Free" is a more laid-back rocker while in "Give It All Tonight" we have yet another winner out of "Interstate 13". Catchier, punchier and with a big commercial vibe this one is among my favorites here.

"The Way I Am", the ballad "Thanks To You" and the huge up-beat "Shoot Me Down" (with its amazing hook an' chorus line...) are all three cool tracks. Next, we have "Walk The Edge". Another solid and straight-forward heavy rocker that includes a big chorus, very good arrangements and some tasty guitar licks.

Pretty Wild brings back the sound of the golden days of Hair Metal with style. They are also fill in their sound with some influences from Reckless Love, Crashdiet and Crazy Lixx and there you have an opus that can't be missed by any fan of hard rock in general.

Rating : 8/10
