REVIEW : Outlasted, Universal Human Desire (LIONS PRIDE MUSIC, Release Date : 31/3/2025)

OUTLASTED is a melodicrock act from Norway, well-known for their captivating blend of AOR music that contains superb harmonies, ear-catchy choruses and well-crafted songs. Their debut opus "Into The Night" achieved to gain positive feedback from both fans and music press.

A few years later, the band released its second record entitled "Waiting For Daybreak". Once again the album was yet another excellent piece of melodic rock stuff. In 2023, Outlasted signed a record deal with the Danish melodic rock label of Lions Pride Music

The new effort is a great melodic rock/AOR stuff that is movin' to the band's 'safe' and well-known paths of the previous two recordings. "Weight Of The World", the opener, is among my personal favourites out of "Universal Human Desire" and one of the album's highlights. Up-beat, melodic and with a huge chorus line this song is pure ear candy. "Save Your Love" is a more radio friendly and late 80's gem while in "Tonight" we are dealing with yet another killer AOR tune.

The ballad of "Lost Without You" is really nice, "Aftraid Of Love" is punchier and includes a heavier groove in it. One of the highlights here is without any doubt the 'edgier' and feel-good "Monkey On My Back". A track that includes a positive vibe in it along with a catchier chorus line. I loved also the pop/rock "Lost Of The Runaways" with its solid and modern rock vibe. Check out also the great AOR gems of "Think Of You" and "Last Time She Cried".

Overall this is a solid album all the way! "Universal Human Desire" has great melodies, strong songs, strong performances and class that will be apreciated by any fan of the both classic and modern melodic rock style.

RATING : 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆(8 / 10 )
