REVIEW : Enemy Inside --- Phoenix (ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records, September 2018)

Enemy Inside is a new female fronted modern heavy rock band and "Phoenix" is entitled its debut work through Rock Of Angels Records. The band consists of Nastassja Giulia – Vocals, Evan K - Lead Guitar, David Hadarik - Rhythm Guitar, Dominik Stotzem – Bass and Feli Keith – Drums.

The sound of Enemy Inside can be described as modern melodic hard rock/metal with strong emphasis on big and dark melodies, the strong arrangements and, of course, the superb vocal lines of the band's lead singer Natassja Giulia. Imagine something between Amaranthe, Lacuna Coil and Evanescence and you'll get the picture of Enemy Inside's music.

The dynamic guitar duo of Evan K and David Hadarik really shines here with its melodic, heavy and aggressive guitars. The rhythm section is solid and, as I already mentioned above, the vocals by Natassja are the cherry on top.

Highlights of the debut are without any doubt the powerful opener tune of "Falling Away", the more hard rocking "Bleeding Out" (with its amazing guitar soloing), "Lullaby", the absolute huge modern anthem of "Angel's Suicide", "Halo" and the breathtaking cover tune of "Summer Son" (TEXAS). I think that with the Texas' classic cover song Enemy Inside did an excellent job.

A surprisingly good album that includes some killer tunes in it "Phoenix" comes as a must purchase for those who like its metal modern, melodic, powerful and of course female-fronted.

Rating : 8/10
