REVIEW : PRIMAL FEAR --- Best of Fear (2017, Frontiers Music s.r.l.)

Primal Fear is one of the best melodic metal bands out there, no doubt 'bout that. Ralf Scheepers' voice is 100% metal, the hungry n' screaming guitars of Magnus Karlsson and Alex Beyrodt are pure metal heaven and the rhythm section of Francesco Jovino on drums and Mat Sinner on bass is ready to blow your speakers up!

Nowadays, this German metal band is back with a double ass-kickin' record that contains songs from Primal Fear’s last 10 years of work (including the albums “New Religion,” “16.6 (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead),” “Unbreakable,” “Delivering the Black,” & “Rulebreaker”), plus four brand new songs recorded specifically for this release.

"Area 16" that kicks-off this really solid compilation is an instrumental song. It's an epic and intense instrumental that warns you of what's coming-up next! And what's next? "Predator", a brand new track that comes like a thunder to make some noise! Typical Primal Fear tune that includes heavy riffs, powerful vocals and tons of heavy melodies! "If Looks Could Kill" is yet another new recording and, of course, another killer melodic metal anthem! Damn, these two new tracks are pure metal bliss. The same goes with "Thrill Of Speed" (new song) which is another great new sample.

Except of those new tracks, this compilation contains, as I already mentioned above, classic Primal Fear songs like "Where Angels Die", "In Metal We Trust", "Angels Of Mercy", "Rulebreaker", "Bad Guys Wear Black", "The Sky Is Burning", "Born Again" and many many others.

So, the bottom line is that, if you are a fan of Primal Fear, then you have to add this compilation to your collection just for the new tracks only!!! But for those who aren't familiar with the band's earlier works, then this is your chance to discover a hell of a band that knows how to deliver ass-kickin' melodic metal stuff!!!

Rating : 9/10
