Inglorious returns with frontman Nathan James and original bassist Colin Parkinson. Nathan James, who founded the band in 2014, has been singing professionally for 20 years. He has performed/recorded with artists such as Ginger Baker, Uli Jon Roth and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Joining them is renowned guitarist Richard Shaw, best known for his work with English extreme metal band Cradle Of Filth, as well as NG26, Emperor Chung, and Plague Of Angels. Richard brings a fresh energy to the band’s sound.
For sure the addition of the new members are givin' to the overall new album a stronger, up-to-dated and rawer sound! It seems that Inglorious is taken things here a step, or steps, forward compared to their previous recordings and the result is pretty good I would dare to say. You see, I'm more than ok with bands that tryin' not to repeat themselves with each release for as long the final result will sound good! And with Inglorious the final result is more than ok here!
"Testify", the opener. is a classic heavy rock tune with a big bad groove in it, Nathan's powerful vocals in front row and a tight as hell musicianship! Brith hard 'n' heavy with all its glory! "Eat You Alive", "Devil Inside" and the 'modern' "Say What You Want To Say" are good, heavy and 'punchy' tunes that are showing off the new direction of Inglorious which the more I listen, the more I love it!
"Believe" is a kinda of more progressive, 'darker' tune that is showing off the abilities of this band to write and perform strong and powerful songs! The groovier and more alternative "Stand" is a cool one while in "Silent" we have a more straight-forward rocker and more in a 'classic" Inglorious era.
This is an impressive come-back for INGLORIOUS, that's for sure! I think that the long-time fans of this band will be surprised a bit by the heavier direction here. Overall "V" is a killer heavy rock album all the way! It's bigger, louder and heavier in every meaning! Welcome back INGLORIOUS!!
