REVIEW : Boulevard IV --- Luminescence (2017)

For the AOR mafia, the name of these Canadians is, for damn sure, no stranger at all. Although Boulevard is a band that is in 'silence' all those years, the AOR freaks were waiting in patience for a comeback.

Back in 2014, the band made its comeback by performing in Firefest and the next year it released a live DVD with the title "Boulevard- Live In Gastown". Nowadays, Boulevard is back for good with a brand new album which is entitled "Luminescence".

The band is ready once again not only to offer a well-played album that includes all the elements from its previous works but, also, to unleash its talent in a record that will please each and every single fan of this scene.

This new BLVD album is simply enjoyable from start to finish; all of the tracks here are well-composed, well-written with beautiful melodies, clever hooks and choruses and with an overall late 80's melodic rock vibe in it. The sound is, also, updated and, at the end, the final result is pure melodic bliss all the way.

Songs such as the anthemic "Life Is A Beautiful Thing", "I Can' t Tell You Why" or even the huge ballad of "What I'd Give" and "Laugh Or Cry" and "Runnin Low" are some of the highlights here.

Bottom line is that Boulevard with their brand new opus is ready to put a wide smile upon the face of every serious melodic rock fan out there.

Rating : 8,5/10
