REVIEW : TRIXTER / Human Era (2015)

Trixter is one of these bands from the gold era of the U.S. Hair Metal that deserve to be really huge but 'cause of the so-called grunge revolution never had the chance to show their talent to a bigger audience. In 1990, they released their self-titled record which was a great sample of pure & ass-kickin' hair metal stuff and two years later "Hear" came to rock our world for good.

This album was and still is one of my all time favorite records from this particular scene full of great anthems, attitude and some serious and in-your-face performances. In 1994, "Undercovers" followed and even if that album was a cover one still Trixter achieved to release another one sample of their big talent.

In 2012, Trixter was back in business with the very good "New Audio Machine" and once again proved that this band has a lot more to offer! Nowadays, the band is ready to unleash its brand new opus which is entitled "Human Era".

"Rockin' To The Edge Of The Night" kicks-off the party here in a such an old-fashion way that will make each and every fan of the Hair Metal scene extremely happy! It includes a cool riff, an up-tempo vibe, attitude and a sing-a-long chorus line to die for. "Crash The Party" is another 'speedy' rock anthem while in "Not Like All The Rest" Trixter deliver a Bon Jovi-esque rocker that will be a future favorite! In "Every Second Counts" we are dealing with another highlight out of the new album; this is a huge commercial tune build for big arenas! Great stuff! "Midnight In Your Eyes" is simple breathtaking; this track is among my personal favorites from "Human Era".

Bottom line is that the boys from Trixter are back with their best album to date, period! It's all about fun, a tight as hell musicianship, hooks and choruses to sing-a-long for days, attitude and Rock 'n' Roll in an old-fashion way! One of the highlights for this year!

  2. Great review and first I've seen of this album.

These guys have aged well and glad they've gotten the opportunity to keep cranking out good music.
