XTASY / Revolution (2014)

The band “Xtasy” was formed in 2011 as a Studio Project by Silvia (vocals) and Jorge (guitar). Together started to work in several songs which were recorded between December 2011 and December 2013 in R81 Studios in Noain-Pamplona (Spain). Other musicians that were involved in the recordings were Jon Huarte (Asymmetric, Taken) and Josu Alzu (Six Miles Wide) on drums, Manolo Arias (Atlas, Niágara), Robert Rodrigo (Airless), Willy Gascón (Steelhorse), David Morales (Asymmetric), Roberto Martinez (Blackbeltz, Taxikarlo) and Ángel García (Meridiam) as lead guitar.

So, nowadays, the band presents its debut release which is entitled "Revolution" through Melodic Rock Records. All of the songs here were mixed and mastered in Stockholm by Erik Martensson (W.E.T., Eclipse) at “Blowout Studios”.

XTASY's sound is pure melodic hard rock stuff and includes strong and passionate vocals, very good guitar work, a tight musicianship and a solid production. It's an album that mixes perfect the late 80's melodic hard rock sound with a more updated 'touch' and the final result is very enjoyable from start to finish. The title track is pure candy to my ears. Heavier with a superb solo and a catchy chorus line that stucks in your mind at once. "Million Miles" and "Scream" are both more commercial with a feel-good vibe in it and both are highlights from this debut. "Many Years" recalls the female 80's scene while in "It Is You" we are dealing with an amazing ballad with a so sweet chorus.

"Revolution" is, as I already mentioned above, a very enjoyable album all the way. It's powerful, it's melodic, it's catchy and generally has everything to become a favorite among the fans of this scene. Recommended.
Heavy Paradise's Rating : 8/10
