ARISING FEAR / Beyond Betrayal (2014)

ARISING FEAR was founded back in 2008 in Augsburg, Bavaria. It is a metal band that combines perfectly the thrashy/metal 80's scene with a more 'modern' metal sound and the result is this heavy to the bone album.

The band consists of Alex Rauh (vocals/guitar) , Kevin Pöllmann (guitar/vocals), Tobi Möhring (drums) and Tom Franz (bass). Arising Fear has also released an EP back in 2009.

The fact is that I'm not a fan of this scene but, to be honest, I have to say that I liked "Beyond Betrayal". It's heavy (metalcore...I would dare to say), brutal, it includes some really impressive and screaming guitars, bad-ass drums and some in-your-face powerful vocals. Perfect for headbanging!!! There are, also, some melodic 'touches' here and there that make the final result more attractive for the non-metalcore fans. The production is big and the tracks that I enjoyed the most are the extremely heavy and speedy "Beyond The Walls Of Anger", the 'different' and more melodic (????) "Meltdown Rust" which is my personal favorite and the 'slower' "Come Alive Again".

Very good album that has its strong moments. For the fans of new Modern Metalcore/Metal sound but also for some earlier thrashers, this is a must check it out! Perfect for headbanging!!!!
