Are you hungry for some in-your-face thrashy heavy metal stuff? Then look no further! Kill Ritual is here to offer some bombastic heavy riffing in an old-fashioned way. This is the band's debut album of a band that was formed in 2010 by Imagika lead guitarist Steve Rice and drummer Wayne DeVecchi.
From the first lines of the opening track "The Serpentine Ritual", the band shows of what's coming-up next. Pure heavy hitting metal stuff with some elements of the old 'bay-area metal' and the result is solid. The vocals performances are overall good, the guitar work is in-your-face with some imressive solos and riffs and the whole band is tight. Ok, this stuff may not be something new but, for sure, it's well-played and the whole album is very enjoyable from start to finish. Highlights here are the opening song, "Torn Down", the eight minute long "Coat Of Blood", the 80's influenced "Law Of The Land" and the more 'modern' "Prisoner Of The Flash".
All in all, this is a solid album. This band has plenty of talent and that's a thing that reflects to their music. Power, attitude and headbanging are all perfectly balanced. And even hough I'm not a fan of this gerne, I caught myself enjoying the most of the songs here!
