Steelheart To Release New Album In 2012

On October 31, 1992 (Halloween night), exactly 19 years ago tonight in Denver Colorado, a horrible tragedy took down one of Rock's premiere bands during a live concert. Steelheart, led by Miljenko 'Mili' Matijevic, arguably one of the best male rock vocalists to ever grace the stage, miraculously survived the tragedy -- however the band Steelheart as we all knew it died that night.

After successful tours of Asia and Europe, Steelheart flew home to tour the U.S. in support of the band Great White. On the last leg of the tour they were invited to perform one last show as the opening act for the band Slaughter. Steelheart was performing "Dancing in the Fire" from the 'Tangled in Reins' album when the accident occurred. Matijevic decided to climb a lighting truss which was for some reason improperly secured, so as Matijevic climbed the rig it broke free. Matijevic tried to dodge the 1000 pound piece of equipment to no avail; it hit him in the back of the head, driving him face first into the stage. The outcome of the accident was a broken nose, cheekbone, jaw, twisted spine, and severe memory loss. Matijevic miraculously found the strength to walk off the stage and was immediately taken to the hospital. It was to be the last time the original lineup of Steelheart would ever perform together.

Matijevic had a long, pain stricken, difficult road to recovery as the accident did far more damage than anyone could have known at the time of the accident which left Matijevic to fight this battle alone for a long time. Over the span of four years Matijevic fought the good fight and while he lost everything he never gave up and in his words... "I had lost my family, my home, and my money, but I had found myself."

October 31, 2011, Miljenko 'Mili' Matijevic is alive and well with a voice that still places him in the category of 'One Of The Best Male Vocalists Of All Time'... and he is pumping out some outstanding work so stay tuned because Mili is just warming up! To mark this day Steelheart has unveiled a new website -- http://www.steelheart.com/  -- filled with music, videos, reviews, news, blogs, photos, podcasts and so much more. Steelheart just wrapped up a very successful tour over the summer with rave reviews and a new album is expected to be released in 2012 with all new music and a world tour to support it.

Steelheart promises to please their long time die-hard fans as well as gain the interest of many new fans!
