Sebastian Bach is back in business! I'm a huge Bach's fan since this charismatic frontman was in the legendary act Skid Row. With the Skids,-Bach released some excellent and classic albums. The self- titled effort is still one of the best albums from the golden era of U.S. Hard Rock. "Slave To The Grind" is another ,perfect example of ballsy Heavy Rock. When Sebastian Bach left out from Skid Row it was a big disappointment for the die-hards. The rest is history.
With his last solo release, "Angel Down" Bach offered an overall solid Heavy album. But that effort wasn't the album that his fans were waiting. It contained some really catchy songs, some covers but, also, a lot of average tunes, imho. So, nowadays Bach is back with "Kicking & Screaming" to show us that he still 'has,' it! After some listenings my feeling is that this is a very good album with some killer tunes. Ok, this is not a second "Slave To The Grind", albums like that are written once in a lifetime. This album has heart and soul and the well-known passionate vocal performances from Sebastian Bach.
Bach opens with the title track "Kicking And Screaming", an ass-kickin' in-your-face heavy tune with a catchy chorus line. "As Long as I Got the Music" is a very good and catchy rocker while "Dream Forever" is a huge modern track with the Skid Row ghost all over the song. "I'm Alive" has a really good melody and "Dance On Your Grave" could easily appear in "Slave To The Grind".
All in all, this is an album that will put a smile upon the Bach's and Skid Row fans across the world. It has all the power and the 'punch' that I expect from Sebastian Bach. I only wish that Bach never left from Skid Row.
