PUSHKING / THE WORLD AS WE LOVE IT (2011)

The fact is that I have never heard about this band before. Pushking is a band that hails from Russia and they have released several albums since their creation, in 1994. I can't really remember a band from Russia that make a good reputation around its name in the past, except maybe of the Gorky Park!

The strong point in this release is the impressive guest list! Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Glen Hughes, Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Jeff Scott Soto, Jorn Lande, Paul Stanley and the excellent list goes on and on! So, with all these great musicians you can't go wrong! Or can you? The truth is that Pushking's "The World As We Love It" has some really strong track with great performances, huge guitar work and a solid production. Ok, the majority of the songs maybe are not impressive but the release in its final result will please all the fans of well played hard rock music.

Highlights here are the great track of "It'll Be OK" which features Billy Gibbons on lead vocals and N. Bettencourt on guitars. A solid track! "Trouble Love" is a more commercial tune and on the lead vocals we find Alice Cooper. A track that brings on some memories from Alice Cooper earlier works. "I Believe" is another great moment from "The World As We Love It". It's a mid-tempo rocker and the lead vocals in this one takes over by Jeff Scott Soto! This guy can sing anything. "Heroin", is another solid track.

All in all, this is a very interesting release. Good hard rock music and an impressive guest list of some of the world's finest musicians make this release a must have!
