REVIEW : VNTER, Unfolding (Release: 9 April 2024)

VNTER was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden back in November 2017 by singer and guitar player Andy. Since their creation they have done a lot of interviews, radio and live shows both in Sweden and outside of Sweden.

The band is also an extension and continuation of the previous band White Limo that had a few successful years and was put to its final rest in 2016. Andy took the best songs that were written and released with White Limo, gave them a make over and re-recorded them as VNTER which became the first album ”When it all comes down”. Previous to that, they released two singles ”Make it up” and ”Queen”.

So, nowadays the band is ready to release its brand new five-track EP entitled "Unfolding". Recorded, produced, mixed & mastered in Studio Soundport in Ulricehamn by Micke Andersson who have a hand in the bands two previous albums.

To be honest with you here, I have never heard anything that this band has released so I' m new to VNTER's sound. After a couple of spins of this new EP, I have to say that I really liked it a lot. Some strong MUSE pinches, some SIXX A.M. (which I love...) but also some SHINEDOWN & FOO FIGHTERS and there you have an overall solid release.

The opener tune of "Forever Never Ends" kicks-off impressively here with a strong SHINEDOWN influence that makes it my personal favourite out of "Unfolding". The more pop-ish "Pieces Of Me" is cool while with "Holy Freedom" the band shows off its strong MUSE influences. For sure a great track! "New Beggining" is yet another great sample out of the new EP and "Euphoria" is just killer!! For the fans of MUSE, this song is a must listen!!

For the fans of the modern rock/alternative and post-grunge sound, this mini album is a must have! Check'em out asap!

RATING : 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 (7 / 10)
