REVIEW : KILLER KINGS, Burn For Love (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 14 October 2022)

Killer Kings is the brand new musical alliance between Gregory Lynn Hall (ex- 101 South) and Tristan Avakian (ex- Red Dawn, Queen Extravaganza).

Killer Kings first came about when Frontiers Records President Serafino Perugino thought of bringing Gregory Lynn Hall, the former singer of 101 South, an AOR band who released three albums between 2000 and 2009, and Tristan Avakian, a very talented and gifted guitarist who made his name in the '90s with the Melodic Hard Rock band of Red Dawn, together.

Musically, Killer Kings mixes in such a solid way the classic late 80's edgy AOR/Melodic Hard Rock scene with a more up-to-dated melodic rock sound and the final result will be 'warm' welcomed by any fan of this genre.

Highlights out of this new opus are the edgier "I Will Be Stronger" (which reminds a lot of RED DAWN), the melodic "Higher", "Phoenix", the power-ballad of "Two Ships", "Do Or Die" and the more commercial tune of "Ain't No End In Sight".

Overall, this is a really interesting and very enjoyable record from these two veterans in the Melodic Rock business that can't be missed by any AOR/Melodic Rock fan out there.
