REVIEW : DEVOID, Lonely Eye Movement (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 15 October 2021)

DEVOID is a melodic metal band that comes from France and "Lonely Eye Movement" is entitled its brand new opus. This is the band's first album with Frontiers Music and it's going to be released this October (15th).

“Lonely Eye Movement” come four years after their debut album, “Cup of Tears”. Musically, DEVOID is moving somewhere between melodic metal and progressive metal with powerful performances, heavy guitars, a solid rhythm section and plenty of melodies enough to make this album very interesting and entertaining for all the fans of this scene.

DEVOID is the brainchild of French guitarist extraordinaire Shad Mae (ex-Shadyon). Combining technical finesse and outstanding arrangements with extremely memorable choruses and hooks, DEVOID is rounded out by powerhouse German vocalist Carsten 'Lizard' Schulz (Evidence One, Book of Reflections), guitarist Gwen Kerjan, keyboardist Jorris Guilbaud, bassist Geofreey Neau, and drummer Benjamin Lesous.

Highlights out of this new opus are the modern heavy and melodic gem of "Man Without Fear", "Impostor" which includes a 'crazy' guitar work, the moodier and more melodic "Waiting For The Storm" (one of my personal favorites), "Mirror Maze", the punchy "Hands Of Salvation" and "Martial Hearts" which includes a killer chorus line to die for!!

For sure, one of this year's highlights!! DEVOID with its brand new "Lonely Eye Movement" comes to deliver a killer, powerful and ballsy melodic metal record with plenty of melodies, amazing guitar work and some prog pinches here and there for your ear pleasure!
