REVIEW : CREYE, II (Frontiers Music s.r.l. Release: 22 January 2021)

Swedish melodic rock sensational act of CREYE returns back in business with their brand new opus simply entitled "II". The new album is going to be released through Frontiers Music on January 22. As in the debut, the same here, CREYE continues to deliver solid, straight-forward and up-tempo melodic rock stuff.

The debut was and still is regarding as classic in this genre. "II" is a bit edgier, heavier at moments and bigger by any meanings. For me CREYE stands proudly besides bands such as ECLIPSE, H.E.A.T., One Desire and W.E.T.

The opening tune of "Broken Highway" is pure melodic rock bliss. Smooth and silk melodic rock heaven with big keys, crunchy guitars and a blistering chorus line enough to stick in your mind for days.  The 'punchier' and straight-forward tune of "Carry On" steals the show here while with "Face To Face" we have yet another killer song out of this new opus. "Face To Face" is one of these songs that are build up for big arenas. Excellent stuff!

The modern, commercial and ultra melodious "Can't Stop What We Started" is a personal favourite and again a song that causes you a feel good vibe. The AOR-ish and very beautiful mid-tempo of "Lost Without You" and the 'positive' "Let The World Know" are two more highlights out of "II" and two songs that will put a wide smile upon the face of every AOR freak out there. "Closer" is a true edgy AOR anthem while "War Of Love", which closes the album, is killer!

A true killer no filler of an album, period! CREYE with their brand new "II" opus comes to conquer the Melodic Rock/AOR world and fill our hearts with positive and feel-good vibes through these so difficult times! A classic opus!
