It seems that Frontiers Music hit bulls eye by signing Arctic Rain on its roster. Arctic Rain is the collaboration between songwriter/keyboardist Pete Alpenborg, guitarist Magnus Berglund, and singer Tobias Jonsson. Later on, bassist Gert Daun and drummer Jonas Jönsson joined forces and finally Arctic Rain took flesh and bone.
The new opus entitled "The One" is going to be released on August the7th and it is a big must have for every fan of the melodic rock/edgy AOR stuff. An album that is heavenly influenced by bands such as One Desire, Eclipse, H.E.A.T., Treat and Talisman (just to name a few...) and which is going to make some noise among the fans of this particular scene.
The first couple of songs that kick-off this impressively good album, "Love Of My Life' and 'Lost', are both melodic-licious and includes edgy guitars, big hooks and some melodies to die for. Next in "Friends' the band is moving to some more commercial paths while in 'Night After Night' we are dealing with a really huge and melodic tune. A classy AOR tune that will bring a wide smile upon the face of the die hard fans of bands such as Unruly Child, Tyketto and early Harem Scarem. "Free My Mind', the punchier 'Give Me All Of Your Love' and the ultimate anthemic tune of 'Lift Me Up" are both filled with class and quality. With "Breakout' Arctic Rain goes heavier (reminds me a bit of Talisman earlier works..) and the result is, again, fantastic! The album closes with a killer track entitled "Take Me To Your Heart". A track that must be listen to on maximum volume!!
ARCTIC RAIN with "The One" raise the standards up and is releasing a monster album! For sure this opus will end up among my personal favourites of 2020, and among the best of in many final lists this year. A true melodic rock/edgy AOR gem that will make you wanna push the repeat button again and again. Man, I can't get enough of this excellent record!!! Buy or die!!
