A couple of years back, a new band King Company released its debut album and as far as I'm concerned it was a hell of a debut. The classic hard rock elements along with some heavier and more updated pinches created one of the best debut albums of that year. The influences from legends such as Deep Purple, Dokken and Whitesnake were obvious but the band achieved to put its own identity as well.
Nowadays, the band strikes back, with a new singer, and delivers yet another solid album that the sure thing is that will please each and every single fan of the melodic hard rock sound in general. The new opus is gonna be released through Frontiers Music and it's entitled "Queen Of Hearts".
The first highlight of the new album comes with the amazing "One Day Of Your Life". Classic hard rock stuff with a breathtaking guitar solo in it, a catchy hook n' chorus line and you have a killer melodic hard rock gem. In "Stars", the band delivers a more melodic and a kinda more commercial hard rock track that is going to be a big hit! "Living In A Hurricane", the Lynch Mob-esque "Under The Spell" and the heavier "Learn To Fly" are all three solid samples of pure and classic hard rocking stuff. All three songs include strong arrangements, passionate performances and very good guitars. Another top moment out of "Queen Of Hearts" is without any doubt the amazing "King For Tonight". A true epic hard rock track grabbed my attention at once. It includes a stunning melody in and, believe me, a killer guitar work to die for!!
I really loved the band's debut record! I was waiting patiently and anxiously for King Company's newest effort and after the first spin all my expectations were fulfilled in a very positive way. These Finish hard rockers have the right ideas, have the same passion, as in their debut, and the necessary killer tracks in "Queen Of Hearts". I don't know if they can beat their huge debut with this one but the result is really excellent!
