STRYPER / THE COVERING (2011)

Firstly, I must say that I'm a big Stryper fan and love all their recordings. Great songwritting, amazing singer, a rhythm section and some inspired solos and riffs! I, also, have to clear that this ain't a new Stryper track! This is a collection of cover songs with "God" being the only original tune. But even if there are not new tracks here, the whole result is simply amazing. It's powerfull,  balanced and it seems that each Stryper member puts its personal mark in each of the songs.

All of the songs are under a 'sound lifting' and served to us with the Stryper unique way! The new track, "God", is excellent! I hope that the new Stryper album will sound like "God". My favourite track from this album is Stryper's rendition of "Highway Star" by Deep Purple, which rocks big time! "Over the Mountain" by Ozzy Ozbourne and the classic Priest's tune of "Breaking The Law" are both great songs full of amazing performances. I really can't find a weak moment here.

All in all this is an excellent album! Classic songs played with passion from an, also, classic band. A terrific cover album and it's one that should be heard.
