PRAYING MANTIS / METALMORPHOSIS (2011)

Today, February the 21th 2011 we will see Praying Mantis releasing a special limited edition EP "Metalmorphosis" to celebrate 30 years since the release of their critically acclaimed Album "Time Tells No Lies" and includes five songs some of which are from the original album re-recorded by the current Mantis line up.

Praying Mantis is one of these bands that with thirty and something, years on their backs are showing that they still have a lot to offer to the heavy music scene! The band's latest release, "Sanctuary" in 2009, was a damn fine piece of melodic hard rock stuff and received great reviews all over the world. So, the Troy brothers, Chris Troy (Vocals) and Tino Troy (Guitars,Vocals) among with Andy Burgess on guitars, Benjy Reid on drums and the very talented Mike Freeland on vocals are back with this EP to celebrate with such a great way their 30th Anniversary!

The five tracks that you are going to find in this EP are, “Children Of The Earth”, “Praying Mantis”, Lovers To The Grave”, “Panic In the Streets” and “Captured City”. All these five re-recorded songs are well-played and it's really nice that with this EP the band hasn't forgotten were they came from and they do, once again, a great job to their own songs! For me the "Captured City" is the absolut highlight here! It sounds refreshing without loosing a bit of the original recording. A true NWOBHM gem! For the fans of this band is a big must have! Well done!
